Istria

Istria is a large well visited peninsula with many outdoor attractions, beaches, hiking and biking routes, as well as interesting cities. Every open space seemed to fill up with a restaurant. The Romans left their stamp here along with other invaders. I visited the principle coastal cities of Poreč, Rovinj, Pula, and the small town of Hum. Driving through the rural area provided many beautiful sights but the roads were narrow and busy with no opportunity to pull over. It would be best explored by bike where stopping would be easier. Maybe someday...
