Capri is an over touristed island which has been on the tourist trail since Roman times. Getting away from the port area as soon as possible and heading to the small town of Anacapri is highly recommended. You can find some quiet streets and squares and the beautiful church of San Michele with its intricate floor tiles. The chairlift ride to Mt. Solaro gives a breathtaking view. You can get a nice sea view of the island from one of the small tour boats which circle it about 2 hours, without or without the overpriced trip into the Blue Grotto.
