The first things which you notice  in Bucharest are the Communist era block buildings and the over the top unfinished Palace of the Parliament. Scratch the surface a bit and you will find the buildings, streets, and galleries which earned Bucharest the name of "Little Paris" with even it's own Arch of Triumph. Down a bit further, you will find some of the historical buildings which escaped Ceauʂescu's blitz.

The Herӑstrӑu park is a great place to spend the day and explore the Village Museum, a collection of traditional village buildings.
